Watch Morocco vs South Africa Live

The Africa Cup of Nations’ round of 16 will conclude with Morocco facing South Africa at Stade de San Pedro on Tuesday night. The winner of this match will advance to the quarter-finals, where they will meet either Cape Verde or Mauritania, who play a day earlier.

Morocco, initially considered strong contenders for the tournament, aim for their second AFCON title. They started well by defeating Tanzania 3-0 in their opening match but faced a setback with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo in the second game. They finished the group stage with a 1-0 win over Zambia, accumulating seven points, four more than the second-placed Congo DR.

Despite a smooth start, Morocco faces South Africa, a familiar opponent they encountered twice during the qualifying series, with each team securing one victory. The Atlas Lions, reaching the quarter-finals in two of the last three AFCON editions (excluding 2019), aspire to match their best performance by clinching the trophy they won in 1976.

Walid Regragui’s side looks to overcome South Africa to secure a spot in the next round. Regragui, previously banned after an incident following the group game against DR Congo, will be back on the touchline on Tuesday, as CAF lifted the suspension on the 48-year-old coach.
